Short Answer

cTrader allows you to manage your open positions at any time while the market is open. You can monitor your profit or loss, modify your Stop Loss and Take Profit, partially close positions, or close them completely.

Viewing Your Open Positions

To view your active trades:

  1. Log in to cTrader.

  2. Open the Positions panel.

  3. Review all currently open positions.

For each position, you’ll see information such as:

  1. Instrument

  2. Buy or Sell direction

  3. Position size

  4. Entry price

  5. Current market price

  6. Unrealized profit or loss

  7. Stop Loss

  8. Take Profit

Modifying an Open Position

To change your Stop Loss or Take Profit:

  1. Select the position you want to modify.

  2. Click Modify Position.

  3. Update your Stop Loss and/or Take Profit.

  4. Save your changes.

The updated levels will take effect immediately.

Partially Closing a Position

If you’d like to reduce your exposure without closing the entire trade:

  1. Select your open position.

  2. Choose Partial Close.

  3. Enter the volume you wish to close.

  4. Confirm the transaction.

The remaining portion of your position will stay open.

Closing a Position

To close a trade completely:

  1. Select the open position.

  2. Click Close Position.

  3. Confirm your action.

Once executed, the position will move to your trade history.

Monitoring Your Account

While managing your positions, regularly monitor:

  • Balance

  • Equity

  • Margin

  • Free Margin

  • Unrealized profit or loss

Understanding these metrics can help you manage risk and stay within your Evaluation Program’s Trading Rules.

Important

  • Positions can only be modified or closed while the relevant market is open.

  • Always review your changes before confirming them.

  • Managing your positions does not override your responsibility to comply with your Evaluation Program’s Trading Rules.
