Short Answer
The Consistency Rule is designed to encourage consistent trading by limiting how much of your total profit can come from a single trading day.
Not all FundingRock Evaluation Programs include a Consistency Rule. The applicable percentage depends on your selected Evaluation Program.
How It Works
If your Evaluation Program includes a Consistency Rule, no single trading day can exceed the permitted percentage of your total profit.
If one trading day exceeds the allowed percentage, you can continue trading until your overall profits increase enough to meet the required consistency.
Exceeding the Consistency Rule does not automatically breach your account. It simply means you need to continue trading until the requirement is satisfied.
Example
A trader has earned a total profit of $2,000.
If their Evaluation Program has a 15% Consistency Rule, no single trading day can account for more than $300 of the total profit.
If one trading day generated $400 in profit, the trader can continue trading until their total profit increases enough for that $400 to represent 15% or less of their total profits.
Does It Apply to My Account?
The Consistency Rule applies to the Simulated Funded Account stage of selected Evaluation Programs, and the applicable percentage varies by program. Your program guide and your FundingRock Dashboard show whether the Consistency Rule applies to your account and at what percentage.
The Consistency Rule does not apply during the Evaluation stage of any program.
Example
Suppose your program applies a 15% Consistency Rule and you make $1,000 in total profit.
Your single best trading day may not account for more than 15% of that total - in this case, no more than $150 in profit on any one day.
If one day exceeds that share, you’ll need additional profitable days to bring the balance back into line before the rule is satisfied. The exact percentage that applies to your account is shown in your program guide and Dashboard.
Important
The Consistency Rule only applies to selected Evaluation Programs.
The required percentage depends on your selected Evaluation Program.
Exceeding the Consistency Rule does not automatically breach your account.
You can continue trading until the Consistency Rule requirement is met.
